I know this. And we shall soon.okay, annie, just fucking yeah.
I was 11 years old. Short hair. Chubby. Had huge dreams. That’s the day I knew I had a bestfriend for life. Her name is Madison Elise. She’s amazing in too many ways to count. That chilly day in November we sealed our friendship with a trip to the MGM. To see the Jonas Brothers perform. It was my first ever concert. And it was to see my favorite band at the time. We knew from that day forward, we’d always have each other. Two sixth graders, starting out in the “big kid” world. We held tight for what roller coaster life was putting us on. We had fun that night. Went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe after, soothing sore throats with sugary lemonade. Screaming was the activity of the night. That was four years ago, almost. It’s been quite a journey for us. Ups and definitely some downs. We’re almost 16 now. We’ve had our hearts broken. We’ve made plenty of stupid mistakes. We fight. We yell at each other. We “insult” each other in a loving way. We like different music now. Her: The Maine. Me: Whatever my mood is, so it depends. I’ve moved away twice. Once to California. Now to Colorado. I miss her terribly. I realized I had taken our good memories for granted. Our long walks. Our pig out nights. Comforting each other at midnight on anniversaries after breakups. We’ve almost left each other more than once. Those fights are the scariest. I can’t picture life without her. She’s my better half. I guess the point of this post, is that you shouldn’t ever take your best friend for granted. She’s important. She knows me better than I know myself. I can’t wait to see her this Christmas. I love you, babygirl. Thank you for all the memories. I can’t wait to make more.
